what does EXTRACT™ actually do? like what's in it?
EXTRACT™ Foundation Reset™ is a mineral scalp detox treatment that physically lifts buildup before protective styles. It's formulated with Bentonite Clay, Kaolin, Activated Charcoal, and Sodium Bicarbonate — ingredients that bind to and draw out product residue, excess oil and sebum, sweat, and environmental debris that regular shampoo leaves behind. Full rinse-off. Zero residue. Matte, clean scalp surface.
when am I supposed to use this? like the day before? day of?
Use EXTRACT™ Foundation Reset™ 24–48 hours before your install. This gives your scalp time to complete the detox process, rebalance moisture levels, and dry fully before styling. Using it the morning of works too — just make sure your scalp is completely dry before the install goes in.
I have a sensitive scalp. is this going to wreck me?
ToxiTress™ is formulated for all scalp types, including sensitive scalps. The mineral clay base is gentle enough for regular use. That said, if you have a diagnosed scalp condition or an active medical concern, we recommend checking with a dermatologist before adding any new product to your routine.
how long does a jar last? I don't want to run out mid-install season.
Depends on your hair density and how you apply it. The 2oz jar gives approximately 2–4 uses — good for trying the system or lighter application. The 8oz jar is built for frequent users and salon professionals who are running the ritual regularly. If you're installing every 4–6 weeks, the 8oz is the move.
I have locs. does this work for me or is it just for braids and wigs?
Yes — EXTRACT™ is safe for locs, twists, and all natural protective styles. Use it as a pre-wash scalp reset before your cleansing day. Apply to the scalp (not the locs themselves), massage gently, and rinse thoroughly before your regular wash routine.
